You could cast an eye on my own work on the subject of McLuhan at Academia.edu (see below). He could not imagine the Internet nor the social networks that are used today, overused and abused. But this would be for him the ‘extension of the First Amendment freedom of speech, expression and distribution of one’s thinking; and the extension of the mind itself, and by its massive circulation of “utterances” or “discourses” the extension of something we could call “mass mind” or mass mental unconsciousness materialized in daily social awareness.
