We speak the way we think and we think the way we speak. Trump’s mental functioning as represented in his speech practice is simpler than Clinton’s or Obama’s. Is he thinking in such short bits of meaning? Is his mental puzzle made up of these small pieces and can he capture teh complexity of the world with such small and simple tidbits? Or is he working on his feelings, on his intuition, on his instantaneous vision?
We have to be more cognitive in our semantics, and the cognitive level of language brings the mind in and then the general behavior.
I am afraid the shorter and the simpler the sentences and the syntax, the more dogmatic and emotionally reactive the behavior.
