We have to understand that neoliberalism has nothing to do with progressive liberalism that centered on freedom and the empowering of people in society by giving them the means to control it and thus to establish some welfare system, a welfare system that has to be constantly restructured: England did it after WW2 but then they ossified it and it did not change: result NHS is on the verge of bankruptcy, for one. We could discuss the school system. The latest Tower Inferno shows how ethnic minority and more generally the poor are treated unsafely, just as if they expected such catastrophes to clean up the plate. The USA in that field are by far the worst case with healthcare twice as expensive as in Europe, even prescription drugs, the same as in Europe are more expensive in the USA. and the school system is moving towards financial un-sustainability at college and university level, hence at the level of qualified jobs and innovation jobs.
