That series has swallowed an overdose of cold-war pills and US-imperialism tablets. It is not even creative, except for the special effects and the war scenes, with both its visual and audio special effects. The only positive point is that the US Navy team, or teams, is, or are, definitely integrated. But apart from that, it is a nightmarish vision of how the US manages — will manage if you know who, and they are at least two — to take the control of the whole planet.

A pandemic that kills sixty or seventy percent of the population since only 10% are naturally immune, is devised by a crazy young Norwegian mad scientist. But luckily the US Navy was there to save the planet after the plague got to the maximum possible effect.

So, they have to get rid of the Europeans and the young mad scientist, after Europe has been wiped out. And the doctor on the last US Navy ship was able to find out how he did it and she was able to devise a contagious healing concoction she calls a cure and to make it expandable in the air so that anyone who breathes it in is automatically immune and healed. US medical science is not mad. It is just the greatest science in the world, which is quite questionable. Pfizer managed to get the first vaccine against COVID-19, but the vaccine was devised in the German autonomous branch of the company, BioNTech. When the series was devised, they did not know that yet.

Then they have to eliminate the British who are trying to prevent the research of this US Navy doctor because they do not want a cure. Then the Europeans are plainly all destroyed by the disease. Then the Last Ship has to get rid, by pure destruction, of a surviving Russian admiral and his submarine. Then they had a long period of fighting against the Chinese who tried to spread a “cure” that blocks the US cure and thus enables the disease to spread, and thus the Chinese president is trying to eliminate the countries he does not like, such as Vietnam, Japan, who knows which or what, and who cares? The Chinese president is eliminated by death.
