Then according to you and the Buddhists everything is passion since everything is Dukkha, bound to come to an end and cause your suffering. Nothing is long lasting because everything is ever-changing. hence and thence dukkha and suffering. Life is thus passion in every single act.
You are mixing up the passion that is love and the passion of compassion. That is totally oldfashioned today since we are not supposed to feel compassion, not even sympathy, for our neighbors but empathy. Passion as love, as what or who I am ready to drop everything or everyone else for. It may bring some “suffering” if you are Werther-ian, but that suffering is the highest form of bliss, because it is not suffering at all but absolute transcendence and transference.
