You know, some folks will say that liberals and progressives were too smug and that we underestimated him. But I don’t think that’s quite the whole story. The real story is that we recognized him for exactly who he was, and shall forever be. We overestimated the goodness and decency of a lot of Americans. We believed in them and as it turns out they did not deserve our belief and good faith. They are not good and they most certainly are not decent.
If that is your state of mind, he wins a second victory since you are rejecting the Americans who voted for him in a sentence that seems to be rejecting all Americans.
I said and wrote several times that the Clinton campaign was too negative: stop him, not him, etc… But where were your positive ideas? Racial equality, gender equality, diversity and inclusiveness, etc? Not in the innumerable initiatives and petitions and actions AGAINST AGAINST AND AGAINST him.
And you forgot the tremendous deception of millions of Americans especially in the second term of Obama’s presidency. Not to speak of the ridiculous encouragement and even approval of anti-Russian attitudes that produced the ridiculous return of Nazi parties in Ukraine and the stalemate in Syria and Iraq.
And what positiveness can you have when you KNOW the USA will never be what it used to be because the center of the world has moved not to the Pacific Ocean but to the Indian Ocean and Obama neglected it. Check the book I published on the subject at Amazon Kindle.
