For sure, you’re right. But most of the learning will be done by some guided (at best) self-learning on digital platforms on the Internet if it is still called like that in five or ten years when the US lose their domination. And the best way to self-learn is through communication, and the best guidance you can have is to constantly confront and discuss what you self-learn with what other people self-learn.
Code might not be important for self-learners, but code will be everywhere. Connected objects are no longer the trend. The trend is connected objects with a purpose: medical, entertaining, pedagogical, informational, etc. and of course didactic and cultural, not to speak of communicational. Will social networks still exist? Probably but they will be transformed in the near future to make sure they do not become the loudspeaker and amplifier of trolls of all sorts, including some who manage to be elected presidents of anything in some countries. GB has to find a way to block the Brexit trolls or the Northern Irish trolls. And in France, they have to find a way to block the trolls who collect money to support a boxer who attacked and punched repetitively a cop. Yellow vests are social network trolls and have to be defeated.
