Capitalism cannot be democratic since economic decisions in a capitalistic business are always taken by a handful of Chief-Whatever-Officers, at times even only one CEO. But we must not mix up capitalism and market economy: economic exchanges have existed among Homo Sapiens for as long as Homo Sapiens has existed and he may have inherited some market practices, exchange practices based on some notion of the value of exchanged things from his ancestor Homo Erectus/Ergaster who moved from Africa to the whole globe except the Americas, as far as we know today.
