SARAPHIM vs SERAPHIM

This is not a great film, but it is the direct scenario all Trumps, and Bolsonaros, and Mélenchons in the world have in their minds. The world is changing so fast, and they only look at the negative sides of things, of course, and these beautiful ambitious, and power-hungry social climbers only want to create as much chaos as they can because chaos brings privileges to those who love the democracy of the few, of only one at times, themselves. Trump when defeated tried a coup d’état, a putsch, Bolsonaro, when defeated, tried exactly the same thing, Mélenchon when defeated is now trying the same thing, and he calls behind himself all secondary marginal forces that are supposed to short-circuit the unions and even the Parliament. Yet some unions, some political movements who want to change the world in one night might decide to let that street putsch, that street coup d’état, that street power seizure happen, and then they hope the 1947 Prague Coup can work in our countries, or the May 1968 events in France can be repeated, performed all over again. They forget that in 1936 in France the Popular Front won the elections and then the unions called for a strike to push their demands into the limelight. They forget that coup in Prague worked in 1947 but totally failed in 1968 thanks to the Russian tanks. They forget that May 1968 worked in France in May but failed in June in the parliamentary elections that gave De Gaulle the widest and strongest majority in Parliament the right ever had in this country up to 1974, even if one year later De Gaulle decided to resign because he lost the vote on his referendum because part of the right decided to vote NO.
As an action film, it is OK but as science fiction or political fiction it is sad and vain because it can only be supported in its political content by people who are from extreme political positions, on the left or the right, and that represents at most one small third of the electorate. I lived the May 1968 events from Kinshasa, but I arrived in Paris in early July, and I was integrated into the armed forces in Paris. We learned then that de Gaulle had negotiated with the French armed forces in Germany their eventual moving as fast as possible to Paris to block any real coup d’état…
