Do not miss this one. It is essential. This case is the French side of such classifications that put authors in boxes (language, gender, nationality, religion, and many other elements) out of which they cannot get and that determine their relationships with the public which is their audience. In this case, it has to do with the classification of authors as French-speaking, but with two groups, more even at times, the native French speakers from France on the one hand, and then various categories of French-speaking and French-writing authors who are not by birth French. Imagine immigrants who are necessarily not French-born, even if they arrived in France and were naturalized when six months old. such classifications are pure segregation, totally un-human, and frankly barbaric.
